When I first decided to look into releasing music digitally the first thing I did was get onto the internet and start searching about how to release your own songs and the digital releasing of songs.

This was 2005 and there was information available, but it was very difficult to find. I even went to iTunes but there was no information on there as to how it’s done.

Looking back it seems like a mad thing to do looking on iTunes for that kind of information. A little like when I released a single back in 1995 and sent 1 copy to Radio One thinking “Right, I’ve got that base covered.” I was listening the following Monday waiting for them to play it.

These are good experiences and funny for you to listen to, but more than anything it was time wasted – and when you’re releasing your own music time isn’t something you can afford to lose.
